i would make something way wackier with the prize heuha xD but ah yeah- that is the standard kind of ambience i always appreciate peeps who make something more out of ambience than just drones or pads or arps turn those drones into something else turn that pad into something wavy and surprise the audience with an unexpected twist of cosmetic events turn those normal arps into wacky arps that still hold some sort of ambient resemblance turn ambience to something MOREE

IDK just like... grab a standard synth and make a big pad/drone/arp, Wash it in reverb. If I was judge I'd pick this as winner so far. Sounds like something you'd make with the prize

oh holy dang WHAT i did not expect you to comment on this track oh my goodness i'm not expecting this to place but i'm very happy with how i did this- i was definitely a bit scared submitting this cause i worried what i was doing was more fitting in the "experimental" genre " than the "ambient" one but im still really happy some peeps are genuinely liking this ; v;

- doing on my own and the results have been... surprising to say the least my own methods makes me happy as an artist, even if they may seem A.I. generated but still! no regrets at all to what my music is today aa

its like 4 in the morning and my brain cant process anything rn so im just gonna regularly nod and agree with what you're sayin' i guess there is nothing wrong with just being random- as i said i like being surprised with my sounds rather than knowing what they are beforehand- it makes the experience much more exciting and gives me new ideas to foster over sometimes it's just a way to cope for me not "being able to compose music like the rest" but nowadays this is just something im happily-

And people who are focusing on reproducing the art of others are not artists imo, they are technicians (not that it's good or bad, they can be great technicians)

If a mall decides to play avant-guarde music, I am not sure it is avant-guarde anymore - unless you sneak in and hack the playlist of the mall, that's another story. But technical knowledge is irrelevant when you are creating new techniques. Besides, artists from other times that are admired today were not always that popular during their life. And there is randomness in everything (see the Brownian motion), and your process of creation is part of your art

so tl;dr- my music is just avant-garde random that doesn't really deserve its place in anything. maybe in a horror game or a game or movie that gorges on random, aggressive music idk

the one thing i know i can't do is replicate what my favorite artists on AT can do, but what i know i can do is learn from how they do it and just commit to it in my own, random.txt, roll the dice fashion

it's a roll on the dice, it's a random automation out of a random automation because i want to be surprised with my sounds, rather than knowing what's coming next and then i just take advantage of any sound i make and use it over and over again, but i do my hardest to try it out in different ways im looking at drafts from nico, from vizil, from ssssss, from YOU- to understand how the frig y'all make these mind-blowing and addictive sounds, and i just use that understanding and manipulate-
