Mixing is the balance of the level of each element in a track. Normally you want vocals up front, the kick and bass to sit pretty loud and everything else to be either panned a btr left or right or EQ'd so that its harmonic content is overlapping as little as possible with the other elements. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CoODW5SsBA&t=46s the second half of this video explains some of the tools you can use to accomplish this.
