For experienced users: fear stagnation. The worst kind of producer is one who's become stale, and is producing just for the sake of it. For new users: embrace the suck. You will be bad. Just like nobody starts off being able to run, you will not be producing the next number 1 single if you've never opened a DAW before. Watch any music production tutorials you can find — even if it's for a totally different DAW, the techniques taught are what's important.

You don't have to be an amazing producer; you don't have to get the attention you've been hoping for. Do it because you believe in your creativity and thoughts and actions. And if you do that, success becomes extremely relative. To approach human is to approach God according to some philosophies. We are forever becoming ourselves by creating what's inside ourselves… and that is God-like. Lastly, if you need anybody to listen to you because you're going through something I am here for any of you. And I mean it. Any time. May the moonlight guide you and dusk grant you courage.

Without including cliché after cliché in my message, I just want to start off by thanking the whole team for letting Audiotool be a real platform and creating a totally unique community. It truly is something great here. All I can say (as someone that isn't committal in the slightest), keep trying to make music. There are literally no wrong answers when it comes to music. If you and your ears like something, then stick with it. And please please don't conform to the charts, or bandwagon onto the newest genre just to get favorites. You keep doing what you're doing and your audience will find you. Oh and just because I've seen it posted so many times; Yes, for any kind of creative person, whether its music, writing, drawing or what have you, having on and off periods is totally okay, it happens to everyone. Just don't decide to 'quit music' because just temporarily you don't like your own sound. If it helps, when I'm at a 'block', I listen to all kinds of genres for ideas. Inspiration can be found everywhere.

Just keep pushing your boundaries and find the music that connects with you. Use the artists that inspire you to create your own style of music which is also similar to theirs at the same time. With Audiotool you have to take your time and experiment with different things. What works and what doesn't work. If you think your music sounds good you have to work until its 110 percent perfection. Control each element in your song to the way you want it to sound. My 2016 coming album will be a good example of that so watch out. :)

    “Message to the community”

I'd like to tell the community that the biggest thing in music is putting in the hours. I mean that in multiple ways. First off, I have spoken to a lot of very big artists, and I haven't met a single one that did not spend 4 years before they got anywhere. Don't be sad because you're not the biggest artist on Audiotool or something like that. Most of those people are also veterans. Besides, not everybody who gets stuff done outside of Audiotool is big on Audiotool as well. Just practice hard, and you'll get there. Secondly, putting in the hours means that your track is not done when you think it's done. When you check out tracks from really good artists, you will notice that there's a lot of processing and tweaking going on. The strong part about good music isn't necessarily good melodies, or good notes, but good sounds. When something sounds good, it doesn't have to be so complicated to make it work. Kepz is a good example. Work on the quality of your sounds. Make every single element sound perfect.

I honestly wouldn't be where I am on Audiotool if it wasn't for the community who helped me along the way. They taught me a lot. I really enjoy what the DAW has. The Pulverisateur (I can't spell), the Heisenberg, the giant sample library, the CPU usage that ends up destroying my computer and makes me buy a new one. This DAW is very unique. For me Audiotool is seriously one of the best tools for producing music. Because it supports my way to be creative. Other kinds of music software are overloaded with possibilities and less intuitive things. I think my creativity gets pushed, if my options are limited – and I definitely have more fun this way! Other DAWs may have 10.000 options and you can download tons of plug-Ins – but that way I never came to an end ;-) On the other hand I really like the community! I found a few friends there and sometimes it's surprising how much some people improve in a few months! It helps me to go on with my music and some comments helped me to improve myself – thanks a lot! Sometimes I wish other producers would respect Audiotool! I know so many really good artists on this site – and often the only thing they can say: what – no plugins? – than I won't try it – but it's your fault guys ;-)

When you're writing electronic music I would advise you to listen to lots of different electronic artists and also listen to classical music. Listening to electronic music really helps me find inspiration for different sounds I could make, different textures and stuff, and the classical music helps me with the actual compositional technique; I try to get into the composers head and wonder what they were thinking, why they are doing what they are doing with the music. The one thing that I'd like to see more of on Audiotool is more constructive criticism of tracks. At the moment it seems like some tracks only get praise where as a little constructive criticism could make them a lot better. You don't have to do something huge to help out either, it could be as simple as giving helpful feedback on a track, regardless of the quality mainly because you don't know really who's behind it. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Audiotool is a great place and that everyone should keep on doing what they're passionate about. Also, I'm hosting the fourth annual "Audiotool Day" competition. Every year I upload a track with no content on it. You can then remix this track and you have until the 10th of December to make whatever you want. Last year I got over 5 hours worth of entries and it'd be awesome to see if we can get even more! I shall upload the track on the 10th of November, which allows everyone exactly 1 month.

Good music always comes from the heart and there's no better way to do it with a (FREE) program that's build from the heart. I never used any other DAWs so I can't compare, but until now I always could make what I wanted to make. Sure there is some lag involved, but I blame my laptop for that ... not Audiotool :) My advise to everyone is to make music for yourself and don't care to much about followers, favs and stuff. Sure it is nice and flattering but use this community to learn and share. Make friends, give real critique, collaborate, don't rush into making that next track. Make a track the best you can and then on a beautiful day u get featured ;) Thanks to all Audiotoolers that have supported me during my journey. This feature has happened because of y'all. I only really have 2 things to say: 1. Thank you So much to the audiotool crew that helped make this DAW possible. I really can't tell you how much I appreciate having a free platform that still works as an authentic software to create professional production. Like I said earlier, it's changed my life in the most positive way, and now I feel like I'm at a place where I can really make a living off of it. 2. To the AT community: Follow your own path. Whether you want as many followers as possible, or just live to create a beautiful sound for your own purposes, FOLLOW YOUR OWN PATH. I'm personally trying to make it in the music industry and sometimes I have to ignore a lot of the AT users that I even look up to, just because their advice doesn't suit my path. So in the end, trust your gut, and make it whatever you want it to be. But also, PRACTICE. Practice practice practice and don't get lazy. Don't resort to only using loops that are off-key, really put time and effort into it, and understand that it is WORK and wont be easy at first; With that mentality, you wont be so overwhelmed. That's all I have to say.

    “Message to the community”

It should blow our minds that Audiotool is possible, and that it is free. in 2014 audiotool sent Kepz, Frigolito, RNZR and me to Moogfest, and I am not exaggerating to say it was a life changing experience. I think the culture of synthesizers is an incredibly generous and beautiful one. We are all people who have a deep respect for the people who make our instruments--and have to confess that much of what we do would not be possible without the artists behind the instrument. At Moogfest last year, Tom Oberheim spoke a bit about his role in the invention of MIDI, and he paused for a moment to play music written and performed by artists. He was moved to tears at hearing what other people had made out of his instruments. Clark did something similar during his set, pausing to express amazement at what he was able to get from his machines. I think that expresses a perfect summary of the community of electronic music--it's a place where technician and artist coexist peacefully, and get to make some pretty amazing sounds together. That's why I love the fact that Audiotool is full of old and young, remix and original, collaboration and solo act. Thanks to Audiotool for creating the instruments and the place, and thanks to all you Audiotools for making the place amazing.

Ergo the only thing I can say is that you are simply amazing and that I am proud to be one of the people who made all this possible. PS.: Some people continue to ask why my profile is so weird. Don't be afraid of messing your track up while editing it. I am afraid and it does not help. It's probably better to just export parts as samples and use these. You'll treat them differently. You won't see them as a huge and complicated network of devices anymore, but a simple sample. I don't do that so you can see how I did it. I don't like the idea of a huge flat sample base either. You can go even further and work in iterations, but this is experimental and not tested yet. I'll try it out.

For the growing Audiotoolers, you will get a lot better but it takes so much practice and patience. I'm sure you already know what I mean or you will know soon. Thanks Audiotool for featuring me as an artist! I never would have thought that I would get featured because a lot of people said that I would, but it never came. Audiotool is a gift, a wonderful parcel. Free, without adverts, no time-limit, comprehensive, accessible for everyone. The fact that Audiotool works with this amount of data is initself a miracle for me. Ok, I can't upload complete audio tracks, of course the libary of other DAWs is larger and possibly, but only possibly, certain functions more elaborate. I like the tools, the modular system with the synth on whitenoise and more than anything the cabling and usability. And then we can publish our works in the community. And last but not least we can invite people to collaborate on a track, and learn from others. Where else is that possible? The bit of spam is negligible. If it gets too much I can mute the troublemaker. But I only used this facility once: the community is just great. If help is needed, you get it immediately. Or you can look at the video tutorials on Youtube. For this and much more to the Aduiotool crew and the community a big THANK YOU!

Thank you Audiotool, all the staff and producers and literally everyone who took part in helping make this site possible and running as smoothly as it does. I am so thankful for this, it is my number one hobby and favorite passtime. This site has changed my outlook on music and has helped me to discover what I would like to do in the future. As for the Community... Thank you to all my followers, fans, listeners and even to the haters! Your input helps me to be not only a better musician but even a better person in general. Thank you to the many more who like my me and my music and are supporting me. My advice to you is be creative, think outside the box, research, ask for help, experiment, be Optimistic, Love Chicken and <3 Audiotool.

Oedipax: Thank you all for all the music you make. Many of you are coming up with such innovative and incredible music. Keep doing what you do for the happiness you find in it. Many of you also know how much making music can be used as a creative and even personal outlet for emotions, dreams, and thoughts. Take it as an opportunity for exploration whether you want to express a deeper part of yourself or simply use it as an opportunity to learn more about certain aspects of music production. Whether you're just starting out or have been at it for years, remember that what you have within you is priceless regardless of popularity, fame, or recognition. Keep learning with fresh eyes and listening with fresh ears, but mostly, don't forget to have fun. ;)

    “Message to the community”

My first message is to express my appreciation for all Audiotool musicians whatsoever whether they are famous or not. Among these artists ther are many references for me. Basically, what I often see is exactly what we do not hear: it is a kind of vibration that the musician allows to flow into his music without even realizing it. That's what I love. That's the magic of music. That's why I like certain artists, even if they do not have the professionality of some others. This, to me, is not of great importance. My second message is to reaffirm the essential role of Audiotool for us all. But also the mind, the feeling, the openness and all the hard work of the team to ensure that Audiotool is such a possibility of expression. This, I think every time I open the application to find new music...

To the people just starting Audiotool or making music itself, making music may not come easily to all of us, but that's no reason why we can't be as good as we want to be. There's nothing wrong with sampling; some of the best music out there has samples. If you're just starting out, don't be afraid to experiment with samples and see how different, yet relevant you can make the track. Force yourselves to improve and try new things. Curiosity can help you reach the pinnacles you plan to reach. Remember, Audiotool is a powerful tool... use it to your advantage.

My mind gets blown by the music on Audiotool everyday. Keep doing it! This site is just brilliant, put together with dedication and passion by the devs and populated by an awesome (if slightly disfunctional) family ;) It means someone like me (a guy that didn't even know what a sine wave was) can make music and even get featured. Oh and on that note - YEAH BITCHES I GOT FEATURED! HAHA!!!!!!! I'M OFF TO MARRY A KARDASHIAN! THE WORLD NEEDS MORE JAMBAM!

I always felt love for all the artists on here that devote their time to doing what they love the most, which is making music. And the ones who are into vibing with the times and are open to a positive change. On your journey, have fun and learn from people, but be your own biggest critic. Don't get hung up so much on what someone else has to say, because then you are no longer going off the music that comes from your soul, but the sound that someone else will forget about the next day. Embrace self and things will flow. Because what matters more: the name, or the character behind the name?

Thanks a lot to Andre and his team for this fantastic platform. I am constantly learning with it and don't think I will ever feel limited. I am looking forward to their new ideas for the upcoming version. I am also amazed at the talent and the high quality of the music I have found in this community. I encourage audiotoolers to keep creating and experimenting. Research and listen to lots of music, learn the basics of music theory, copy and understand the techniques from the pros, open and analyse tracks you like to understand what makes them tick, experiment a lot, know each device inside out, get creative, try unusual arrangements and don't feel pressed to publish too often.

I started using Ableton not so long after I discovered audiotool and I have to say that learning Ableton would have been a lot harder without audiotool. It's the perfect platform for anyone who would like to learn about making electronic music and also about a little piece of electronic music history, because of the great classical machines emulated in it. What I will like to add is that, although I am an Ableton user, I always come back to audiotool, first of all for its accessibility and second for the great community that it has.

Audiotool is the coolest way to get into making music. The relatively small community makes everyone's presence so much more valuable - so make the music you love. Audiotool is where you can get away with that. By making the music you want to hear, you will end up with a group of people who love your music, which is what we all need as artists starting out on Audiotool.

Keep on making this great music on Audiotool! And please be patient. We know that very little has been added to the app in the last months, but there is a lot of stuff going on under the hood. Andre already has a bunch of great ideas for new tools and toys that will be integrated as soon as we have the full-fledged application running on html5. Stay tuned!

Music production has become an important part of my life. Andre Michelle and team, I want to say thank you for this fantastic app! Keep it up! Dear Audiotoolers, I would like to quote Zone: "Make the music you want to make, don't make the music everyone else wants you to make. Good artists evolve when they follow their heart, think outside the box and experiment. New sounds and concepts can evolve from simple ideas and this is what makes music such an amazing thing." I just want to say: Have the courage to be yourself. Make music for your heart not for followers.

Digital audio workstations (DAWs) exist to assist in the making of music. But that doesn't mean they are easy ways to escape hard work. A DAW is like any other instrument; you must practice in order to gain experience and get better. If you find that your work isn't up to your standards, then familiarity with your tools is more important than more tools. After all, you don't know what that knob does until you twist it, so you should twist it before you get more knobs. So my advice for Audiotoolers is this: if you want to make better music, then eat more peaches.

For me, the most important part of making music, is having fun. Audiotool makes this effortless with its intuitive and straightforward layout. With the amazing sample browser at hand and a few simple effects, its easy to make my creativity to flow. Without Audiotool I would probably never have started producing any music or even continued to play an instrument (sorry if this sounds like a bad commercial, but I mean it). For the community i just want to say: Make the music you want to make, don't make the music everyone else wants you to make. Good artists evolve, when they follow their heart, think outside the box and experiment. New sounds and concepts can evolve from simple ideas and this is what makes music such an amazing thing. Have fun and stay humble. Cheers Zone.

Make the music you want to but remember you may find your sound quicker by trying new things and experimenting as much as possible, even if it means listening to new types of music too. By avoiding loops and presets you are forced to create sounds from scratch, not only will this help you understand the synths but it will give you new techniques that can develop into a sound of your own. I have built up a small arsenal of techniques that really define my sound but I'm always adding to it as I'm never completely satisfied. An evolving sound is a healthy sound so always strive to better yourself.
