This is a story and soundtrack to a game that does NOT YET exist...
------
This is Onei's chapter. Shortly after a mysterious manifestation, he, a dark, humanoid, cat-like being, drifts through outer space until he discovers and is drawn towards a rift to the Astral Plane, a mindful realm of pure abstract wonder. Entering the rift, Onei would curiously explore the Astral Plane, causing mischief and undergoing all sorts of shenanigans along the way. Soon he would be met with heavy backlash from the native astral beings, but will that be enough to deter his sheer enthusiasm?

The full story is told in order of each song's description. The descriptions receive edits and clarifications on occasion, so be on the lookout!

This soundtrack was a labor of love and passion that amounts to over 2 years of work, and 3 years including the extras (82-92), all in my spare time. Keep in mind that that time has been padded with breaks from working on the soundtrack as well as other things. If It were my sole focus musically speaking, I think I might've been able to make it all in around a year's time more or less. Looking back, a lot of flaws have become very apparent to me, but it all tells another story of my own personal growth as a music artist!

Art for songs 3-10 created by the lovely
@shmoop
. I made the art for the rest of the soundtrack, including the album cover and logo!
If you don't mind me asking, how do you envision the ideal end product for Astral Aurora? Is it a combat platformer, an RPG, or something else? What artstyle would you want it to have?
I always saw it as a kind of pause-ahead like gimmick platformer with multiple versions of the level you're playing running at the same time. Like, you have to manage enemies or obstacles on multiple fields that you can switch between (but themed as switching between dimensions!)
I love albums that fuel creativity like this. I've always had them ask for me to envision a movie, though. Never a video game! This has always been impressive
@Jetdarc
I forgot to reply, but it'd be some kind of sidescrolling action-adventure game with high-resolution pixel art (to the point where you'd have to look closely to notice that it's still pixel art)
Hey
@Jetdarc
! I'm working on my first attempt at Chiptune right now, and it's going great! Could you include it as the soundtrack to a post-credits boss fight? I'll publish the track sometime in the next few weeks/months. If you don't like it or don't want it, I totally understand. This is your game and you should be making the decisions about it. I'm just a fan trying to help you out!
Yeah uh I am not expecting anyone to listen to the full thing, so if you want, here are my personal highlights from the soundtrack (I WILL USE TRACK NUMBER TO SAVE SPACE, EXCLAMATION MARK MEANS MANDATORY -- LISTEN OR DIE):
