you have 100 followers, and if any of them really did think you were that underrated, then they'd post your name in here. don't try to rush for a fanbase. just experiment and eventually you might get some kind of following. it's not all about the popularity, it's about the music.

What's most important to me isn't how much recognition I get or how well my stuff is received, literally the only thing I care about is that I want to make music and that I enjoy it. If you're mostly relying on a fanbase for motivation I think you're going to have a bad time.

If it's of any help, here's what I think: You cannot "rate" yourself. You're too attached to your own material because you made it. Only others who aren't so close to what you do can offer an honest, true "rating". And, of course, some will like your stuff, others not so much, it's normal. Therefore it makes no sense for you to say you're underrated. It's like you deciding exactly how many likes your tracks should have. It doesn't work that way. If your music works, it will elicit a response from an audience. Therefore the audience decides if you're underrated or not, not you.
